Houaphan Party Secretary visited Ha Tu Coal Mine

Within the framework of his working trip to Quang Ninh province, Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee and governor of Houaphan province (Laos), Somphan Phengkhammy, paid a visit to Ha Tu Coal Mine.

Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Council, Le Van Anh, learders of Vietnam Coal-Mineral Group (KTV) and Ha Tu Coal Mine received the delegation.

As an affiliate of Vietnam Coal-Mineral Group (KTV), Ha Tu Coal Mine is engaged in the exploration, mining, processing, and trading of coal and related minerals, such as anthracite and derivative coal products.

In 2023, it exploited 2.5 million tons of raw coal and produced over 2.7 million tons of coal.

Houaphan Party Secretary, Somphan Phengkhammy, expressed his impression on the company’s production scale, management procedures and operational processes linked closely to environmental protection rules.

Together with tourism potentials, Huoaphan province also has a large reserve of coal, which acts as a good condition for the development of mining industry, he added.

He hoped that Quang Ninh province and TKV would have further cooperation with Houaphan’s mining sector, contributing to strengthening the relationship between Laos and Vietnam in general and Houaphan-Quang Ninh in particular.
