Ha Long International Cruise Port reopens after storm Yagi
Ha Long International Cruise Port in Ha Long city has already reopened to international visitors after a period of disruption caused by storm No.3 (Yagi).
Nearly 1,000 tourists from China, the Republic of Korea (RoK), and other countries have travelled from Hanoi to Ha Long City as per their pre-determined schedules.
On September 7, typhoon Yagi damaged nearly 100 boats and 30 aquaculture cages, severely impacted over 550 factories, and left more than 50,000 households with damaged homes. Additionally, 115 hotels and high-rise buildings were heavily affected, and around 100,000 trees were felled.
Mr. Vu Quyet Tien, Secretary of the Ha Long City Party Committee, announced that the city would launch a recovery campaign to address the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi. The goal is to clean up the environment, repair schools and hospitals, and ensure social welfare and disaster relief efforts over the next seven days.
The tourism sector has taken urgent action to overcome severe consequences of the storm and get its tourism back on track. The super typhoon is said to be the strongest to hit Vietnam in dozens of years.
According to, Ha Long International Cruise Port, repairs were madeimmediately after the typhoon to the damaged infrastructure and fallen or damaged trees were cleared. The port also focused on inspecting and maintaining the equipment and machinery.
As of now, some docks are operating normally and ensuring safety during operations. Many tourist boats have now returned to dock at the Ha Long International Cruise Port after temporarily relocating to avoid the storm.
