Flag-raising ceremony conducted at Bai Mon – Mui Dien national scenic spot in Phu Yen
A flag-raising ceremony was held at Bai Mon – Mui Dien national scenic spot in the south-central province of Phu Yen on March 30, within the framework of the 65th National Marathon Championship – Tien Phong Newspaper.
The event drew the participation of more than 3,200 people, including local residents, soldiers of the armed forces, and students, as well as runners competing in the tournament.
The event aimed to inspire patriotism, increase responsibility to protect the national sovereignty over seas and islands, and encourage people’s contributions to the national construction and defence.
All of the participants at the event wore red T-shirts with five-pointed yellow stars, the colours of the Vietnamese flag. They stood together to form a map of Vietnam, including the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
Following the ceremony, they also joined hands to spread a giant national flag measuring 1,000 sq.m.
The 65th National Marathon Championship – Tien Phong Newspaper will kick off in Phu Yen Province on March 31. The tournament will feature the highest number participants so far, nearly 12,000, competing in various categories across the four distances of full marathon, half marathon, 10km, and 5km in Tuy Hoa City.
