First Hanoi Autumn Festival to introduce capital’s unique cultural heritages

The first Hanoi Autumn Festival, themed “Hanoi in Autumn – Come to love”, will be held from September 29 to October 1 on the pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake and in several districts in the capital city.

Autumn is the most beautiful season of Hanoi.

This festival aims to promote the beauty, cultural values and tourism of Hanoi, towards attracting more visitors to the capital city.

With the themes of Hanoi’s autumn, festival will feature various activities highlighting the attractive destinations as well as the unique cultural characteristics of the capital city in the autumn.

The opening ceremony, with an art programme, will take place at the Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden.

In addition, 150 pavilions will be arranged along Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thach and Bat Giac House in the Ly Thai To Flower Park, introducing many products from trade villages and the special dishes and gifts during autumn around the capital city as well as destinations from across the country.

During the festival, a conference on the development of MICE and Golf Tourism, the performances of dragon and lion dance by artists from Thanh Oai District, a procession of Mid-Autumn festival lanterns from Son Tay town, kite show by Dong Anh District, the flower arrangement of Me Linh District, puppet performance of My Duc District, and the art of processing and enjoying lotus tea.

Besides, the re-enactment of past and present weddings, an Ao Dai show, children's parade activities, painting contest for children, and the parade of cyclos, bicycles and double-decker buses will be held during the festival.

The businesses will also introduce tours, air tickets and travel services during the festival. Notably, a photo exhibition entitled “Colours of Hanoi Autumn” is expected to delight visitors.

Autumn is the most beautiful season in Hanoi, which is suitable for visitors to explore famous destinations and enjoy the special cuisine of the capital city.
