Dai Ky Phuc festival held at Van Yen Communal House
The festival of Dai Ky Phuc Festival was held at Ha Long city's Van Yen communal house on December 13-14, featuring a variety of cultural rituals and programs. It is also an occasion of locals showing their gratitude, commemoration with communal Gods.
According to historical records, Van Yen communal house, located in the provincial historical and cultural relic cluster of Van Yen communal house - temple - pagoda, was built during the Le Trung Hung period and cognized as a provincial relic in 2011.
The festival begins with a ritual procession from the communal house to a shrine to report to the village tutelary god. The procession then passes through the streets of Viet Hung ward and winds up at the Dai Ky Phuc Communal House.
On either side of the road, local people arrange trays of fruit in front of their house, to pray their ancestors to bring peace to the locality and help the local people have a prosperous year.
After the procession, there are many fun activities such as a cooking contest, a tug of war, traditional dancing and singing, etc.
