On March 24, in Ha Long City, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations organized a workshop to consult and evaluate the Project on seaport development and services in Quang Ninh province till 2030, in a vision to 2045.
According to the project, Quang Ninh will focus on developing technical infrastructure and connecting transport infrastructure, renovating and upgrading a number of seaports and logistics service areas.
Of which, priority will be put in attracting investment to develop logistics service areas in Quang Yen Town; Van Gia port and Van Don International Passenger port will be built, aiming at raising the average growth rate of seaport service revenue from 2019 to 2030 to reach 17.5%. For the period of 2030 – 2045, Quang Ninh strives to develop Quang Ninh’s seaport system and seaport services to meet the international standards.
At the workshop, opinions and recommendations have been raised in terms of measures to alluring investments in seaport development; the exploitation capacity of the ports; the appropriateness of the master plan for seaport development services in Quang Ninh province till 2030, in a vision to 2045 with the existing regional plannings, plannings of northern seaport group and the overall planning for the province’s socio-economic development were also raised at the workshop.
The Transportation Development and Strategy Insitute as a consultancy unit will consider those opinions and proposals to complete the project.
