On June 5, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (VINASME) held an online conference on supporting small and medium enterprises to effectively implement the EU-Vietnam tree trade agreement (EVFTA).
At the conference, attendants discussed important contents concerning strategic benefits and necessary points which small and medium enterprises should pay attention to effectively implement the EVFTA, potential goods and sectors, export promotion orientations to the EU market etc. The EVFTA is expected to be approved and put into effect in Aug, 2020, so that over 85% of tariff lines for Vietnamese goods exported to the EU market will be removed.
Currently, there are 900 out of more than 20,000 enterprises engaging in import-export activities in Quang Ninh. The implementation of the EVFTA is a good opportunity for Quang Ninh province’s enterprises to access high-tech equipment, benefit tariff preferences as well as attract FDI from EU countries.
