Co To district has just held a conferfence to sum up 3 years of implementating the Conclusion N047/KL-TW dated 6-5-2009 by the Politburo regarding policies and measures to develop Quang Ninh province to 2010 and orientation to 2020 in association with the implementation of the Conclusion N0503-KL/TU dated 6-1-2012 of the Standing Provincial Committee regarding the project on “developing a model of sustainable socio-economic development associated to the national security and defence in the areas of border, islands and seas as well as mountainous and remoted areas within the province.
At the conference, leaders of Co To District People’s Committee have reported Co To’s achievement in socio-economic development in recent years and presented the plan to develop the district in the upcoming years.
Accordingly, representatives unanimously agreed and proposed that the Standing Committee will report and ask for permission from the Politburo to build a project on developing Co To into a special economic zone, and to apply particular mechanisms to attract investment in projects of improving social security of the district and to build capacity of human resource on the island.
