Cherry Blossom - Ky Thuong Festival 2025 to open on March 22
The Cherry Blossom - Ky Thuong Festival 2025 will be held on March 22-23 in Ky Thuong commune in Ha Long city. This is the first festival held by the Ha Long City People's Committee with a view to preserving and promoting the local traditions while attracting more tourists to this destination.
Ky Thuong, the highest commune in Ha Long city, has a population of nearly 900 people, with almost 100% belonging to the Dao Thanh Phan ethnic group. In addition to its rich biodiversity, Ky Thuong is recognized for its natural tourism resources, featuring towering mountain ranges, an extensive network of rivers, lakes, waterfalls, and streams interwoven with vast green forests. This creates a breathtaking landscape of harmonious mountains and water. With its cool climate year-round, the commune is often referred to as a "natural air conditioner" for Ha Long city.
The Ky Thuong Cherry Blossom Area is a promising new eco-tourism project in Ha Long, supported by leading Japanese companies specializing in cherry blossom cultivation. Around 100 cherry blossom trees have grown well.
The festival will take place between March 22 and March 23, featuring a variety of activities including cherry blossom tree planting, cherry blossom exhibition and display, an OCOP fair, cultural and sports exchanges, bamboo pole dance performances, and some exciting competitions like crossbow shooting, stick pushing, stilts walking demonstrations, traditional embroidery, etc.
