Art programme honours guardians of country’s seas and islands
An art exchange programme entitled ‘Hearts of the Seas and Islands’, was held at Au Co Arts Centre in Hanoi on March 11.
The event is held annually by the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, to honour those who have devoted their lives to safeguarding the country’s seas and islands.
They include naval soldiers, coast guard, fisheries surveillance forces, border guards, fishermen, and those who earn a living from the sea.
With the participation of popular artists such as People's Artists Ta Minh Tam and Quoc Hung; singers Quang Ha, Tan Nhan and Phuong Nga; choir from the Vietnam National Academy of Music; and dance groups, the programme brought the audience a musical night full of emotions, inspiring their national pride, patriotism, and love for the country’s sea and islands.
At the event, the representatives from Nguoi Lao Dong (Labour) Newspaper presented 20,000 national flags to the Vietnam Journalists Association, as gifts to fishermen nationwide.
