Under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Bui Van Khang, a meeting to discuss preparatory tasks for the organisation of the 3rd meeting of APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC 3) was held on July 11.
As planned, the third meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Advisory Council (ABAC) is scheduled to take place at Ha Long Royal Hotel in Ha Long city from July 26 to 29.
Themed “Embrace. Engage. Enable”, the meeting is set to see the face-to-face and virtual participation of nearly 200 delegates from the 21 APEC member economies, including official and alternate ABAC members, APEC Senior Officials, along with some guests and researchers.
Some events to be organized in Quang Ninh include a conference held on July 26 to introduce the province’s business and investment climate and cooperation opportunities, and a forum on July 28 aiming to seek ways to boost economic connectivity among the four provinces traversed by the expressway from Hanoi to Mong Cai Border Gate, namely Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh.
ABAC3 is considered a good chance for Quang Ninh to introduce its tourism potentials and favorable business climate to major investors in the APEC region, especially when COVID-19 related travel restrictions are still undergone in various nations.
Addresing the meeting, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Bui Van Khang, directed all of the relevant department to thoroughly carry out preparatory tasks for the event.
Relevant agencies were asked to devise plans for COVID-19 pandemic prevention, prepare forces for emergency as well as ensure security and order at places where events are held and where delegates visit.
