On September 6, in Moscow, Russia, a Quang Ninh City delegation led by Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairwoman of the City People’s Council Trinh Thi Minh Thanh held a working session with the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia. The delegation was received by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Russia Dang Minh Khoi.
Welcoming the Quang Ninh City delegation to the Embassy, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi briefed the delegation on Vietnam–Russia relations and the potential and opportunities for Quang Ninh to further expand ties with Russian localities, organisations and businesses. He also affirmed that the Embassy would continue to support connections and promote Quang Ninh’s cooperation activities in Russia.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of Quang Ninh City Party Committee and Chairwoman of the City People’s Council Trinh Thi Minh Thanh emphasised that, in its new status as a city and with an expanded development space, Quang Ninh has identified the need to proactively broaden its external relations, strengthen international connectivity and attract additional resources for socio-economic development. Russia is among the important partners with which the city wishes to further consolidate and expand relations, and promote cooperation in trade, investment, processing and manufacturing, logistics and seaports, science and technology, education and training, healthcare, culture and tourism.
During its programme in Moscow, the Quang Ninh City delegation laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument in Ho Chi Minh Square. The site is a familiar historical and cultural landmark for the Vietnamese community in Russia, as well as a place where high-level Vietnamese delegations pay tribute during official visits to Russia.
The working visit to Moscow successfully concluded the Quang Ninh City delegation’s working visit to Russia, contributing to strengthening cooperation with traditional partners while opening up new and practical avenues of connectivity for Quang Ninh in its new stage of development.
