On November 2, as part of a working visit to South Korea, a delegation from Quang Ninh City led by Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh City People’s Committee, Le Van Anh, visited Cheongju City for talks on promoting cooperation between the two localities. Lee Jang Sub, Mayor of Cheongju, received the delegation.
Both parties discussed potential cooperation in various fields, including the economy, industry, tourism, culture, urban development and the environment. In tourism and culture, they exchanged views on preserving and promoting their respective heritage values, including the Jikji heritage in Cheongju and Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in Quang Ninh. They also explored opportunities to promote and establish links between annual cultural and tourism events, such as the Cheongju International Craft Biennale and Ha Long Carnival.
Both sides also expressed interest in sharing experience in urban regeneration and the development of cultural, ecological and riverside spaces, with a view to building green, civilised, modern and sustainable cities. Quang Ninh City stands ready to facilitate efforts by businesses from Cheongju and South Korea to explore investment and business opportunities in the city.
