Quang Ninh and China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are seeking to strengthen cooperation in science, technology, artificial intelligence and the digital economy, with a focus on practical projects that support economic growth and closer ties between the two localities.
Mr. Bui Van Khang, Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Party Committee and chairman of the Quang Ninh People's Committee, met with a delegation from Guangxi's Big Data Development Bureau on October 28.
The delegation was led by Mr. Zhao Zhigang, Deputy secretary-general of the Guangxi regional government and Director of the region's Big Data Development Bureau.
During the meeting, Mr. Zhao Zhigang expressed Guangxi's willingness to share its experience in developing the digital economy and strengthening policies that support digital transformation.
He also proposed closer cooperation with Quang Ninh on projects involving digital infrastructure, data management and artificial intelligence, with the aim of creating new opportunities for technological development.
Mr. Bui Van Khang welcomed Guangxi's proposals and said Quang Ninh would create favorable conditions for cooperation between the two localities.
He said the city would direct relevant agencies to work closely with their Guangxi counterparts to identify specific areas of cooperation based on each side's strengths and development needs.
He also emphasized the importance of turning discussions into practical initiatives that deliver measurable results and contribute to socioeconomic development.
Both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening exchanges and cooperation in science, technology and digital transformation, while further promoting friendship and ties between Quang Ninh and Guangxi.
