On the morning of September 22, the Quang Ninh City People’s Committee held a meeting to hear and provide comments on the pre-feasibility study report for the Cua Luc Bridge project and several key transport infrastructure connectivity projects. Chairman of the Quang Ninh City People’s Committee Bui Van Khang presided over the meeting.
According to the pre-feasibility study report, the project has a total length of 5.2km. The main bridge will be 1.28km long, while the remainder will comprise approach bridges and roads on both sides connecting with National Highways 18 and 279. The project is designed with 10 lanes for motor vehicles, with the connection to National Highway 18 featuring a multi-level grade-separated interchange. The main bridge will have a two-level design, with the first level providing functional space for commercial, tourism and service activities.
Commenting on the pre-feasibility study report for the Cua Luc Bridge project, Chairman of the Quang Ninh City People’s Committee Bui Van Khang stressed that the city expects Cua Luc Bridge to become one of Quang Ninh City’s iconic landmarks. The bridge should not merely serve as a transport connection, but also be a distinctive architectural work with full functions to support commercial, tourism and service development and the organisation of festivals. Thereby, it will truly become a driver for unlocking the development space of Cua Luc Bay - the city’s urban connectivity hub.
Delegates at the meeting also heard and provided comments on the pre-feasibility study report for the East-West Boulevard project connecting bridges in the Cua Luc Bay area, and the Highway project linking the Ha Long - Hai Phong Highway with Ring Road No. 5 of the Hanoi Capital Region, following agreement with departments and sectors of Hai Phong City.
