In the first eight months of 2026, Quang Ninh welcomed nearly 17.1 million tourist arrivals, up 6% from the same period in 2025. Of these, overnight tourist arrivals reached nearly 6.6 million, up 10%, while total tourism revenue exceeded VND 51 trillion, up 23% year on year. In particular, the National Day holiday recorded impressive growth, highlighting the growing appeal of Quang Ninh as a destination within its new development space.
During the five-day National Day holiday from August 29 to September 2 alone, Quang Ninh welcomed around 568,000 tourist arrivals, up 60% from the same period in 2025. Overnight tourist arrivals were estimated at 227,500, up 70%, while total tourism revenue was estimated at VND 1.8 trillion, up 84% year on year.
Quang Ninh’s appeal during the holiday was driven by a series of large-scale political, cultural and sports activities held to mark the August Revolution, National Day holiday and the milestone of Quang Ninh becoming a city.
To maintain growth momentum in the final months of the year, Quang Ninh has developed an Autumn-Winter tourism stimulus plan; completed the dossier for the Van Don–Co To National Tourism Area; and incorporated feedback to finalise the project on “Developing the heritage economy, night-time tourism products and cultural industries of Quang Ninh City to 2030, with a vision to 2045”.
The continued renewal of tourism products, stronger promotion and marketing, and expanded international cooperation are creating further momentum for Quang Ninh tourism to maintain its growth rate, towards the 2026 target of welcoming more than 22 million tourist arrivals and generating over VND 65 trillion in tourism revenue.
