On September 26, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh City People’s Committee Le Van Anh chaired a meeting to review cooperation between Quang Ninh City and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China.
In implementing cooperation agreements signed at the 2026 Spring Meeting between the Secretary of the Quang Ninh City Party Committee and the Secretary of Pary Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as well as the Memorandum of Talks between the Chairman of the Quang Ninh City People’s Committee and the People’s Government of Guangxi, the two sides have continued to expand cooperation across various fields. Since the beginning of the year, the two sides have signed 28 cooperation agreements and documents. Border and border-gate management has been strengthened, while law enforcement agencies have maintained exchanges, joint patrols and inspections, and coordinated efforts to combat crime, smuggling and trade fraud.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Le Van Anh affirmed that cooperation between Quang Ninh and Guangxi is becoming increasingly substantive, contributing to building a peaceful and stable border while expanding cooperation in trade, investment, tourism and emerging fields. Vice Chairman Le Van Anh asked departments and agencies to urgently finalise the Framework Agreement on the Mong Cai–Dongxing Cross-Border Economic Cooperation Zone; promote cooperation in big data, trade and tourism; and study a pilot scheme for the use of travel permits by Chinese tourists. He also called for accelerating the completion of investment plans and equipment preparations to put the smart border gate into operation in 2026, while reaching agreement on the technical plan for Bac Luan III Bridge.
