On April 11, in Ha Long city, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee of Quang Ninh province Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with Mr. Joseph Ahekoe, the Editor-in-chief of the magazine “French language news” Ahekoe Joseph on the occasion of his working visit to Quang Ninh.
At the meeting, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh has introduced to the delegation an overview of potentials and advantages of the province. Specifically, Quang Ninh has 500 sites that have been classified as historic and natural landscape sites.
Of which, Ha Long Bay was particularly twice recognized by UNESCO as the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay and recently officially become one of the new seven natural wonders of the world. This helps Quang Ninh to comprehensively develop hi-class tourism services, especially marine tourism and hi-ranking recreational activities.
He also stressed that Quang Ninh targets to a rapid and sustainable development associated with eco-environmental protection, in order to build the province into one of the major economic centers of the North by 2020 and in a version to 2030 with the focus on tourism and border trade development.
For his part, Mr. Ahekoe Joseph wishes to have more opportunities to visit and work in Viet Nam in general and Quang Ninh in particular. He also expressed his interest in policies and mechanisms serving tourism development, especially development objectives of Quang Ninh in the next 5 years.
Mr. Pham Minh Chinh stressed that Quang Ninh strives to gradually increase the proportion of service and tourism in the future because it gathers all conditions to develop these areas.
At present, Quang Ninh is preparing strategies for developing and promoting the values of both Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay in a sustainable way. In addition, Quang Ninh is researching necessary procedures and continuing negotiations to establish friendship with Shizuoka city (Japan) and Santiago city (USA) and other cities in Europe.
On this occasion, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh gifted Mr. Ahekoe Joseph a picture of Ha Long Bay.
