On August 17, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Quan Minh Cuong received Ton Chirathivat, Chairman of a Project of Thailand’s Central Retail Group, who was visiting Quang Ninh to explore investment cooperation opportunities.
As part of the Miss World 2026 pageant, on August 16, 111 contestants from countries and territories took a sightseeing and experiential voyage around Ha Long Bay aboard the luxury cruise ship Catherine Horizon. The contestants explored the beauty of the World Natural Heritage Site and helped promote the image of Ha Long Bay to international audiences.

On August 16, voters across Quang Ninh Province took part in the election of village and residential group heads for the 2026–2031 term. This was the first election held in newly reorganised villages and residential groups following the recent restructuring and mergers, which reduced their number from 1,452 to 624.
