Alongside established destinations, Van Don is exploring ways to turn local cultural values and livelihoods into distinctive tourism products.
Cang Lao Vong fishing village lies amid the pristine waters of Bai Tu Long Bay. Activities introducing visitors to aquaculture, local cuisine and the culture of fishing communities are being developed into potential tourism products. At the San Diu Ethnic Community Cultural House, the community’s distinctive cultural features are preserved in a space resembling a miniature museum. To encourage visitors to stay longer, the exhibits need to be brought to life through interactive experiences involving the local community. Strengthening cooperation with specialised agencies and seeking input from tourism and travel businesses will help Van Don continue to research and refine distinctive, high-quality tourism products with practical potential, turning its unique advantages into new attractions for the destination.
