Quang Ninh strengthens cooperation with EATOF member localities

Within the framework of the 19th General Assembly of the East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Federation (EATOF) in Cebu, the Philippines, the Quang Ninh City delegation, led by Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh City People’s Committee, Vu Van Dien, held bilateral meetings with representatives of several EATOF member localities.

With Gangwon Province, South Korea, the two sides discussed continuing to promote long-standing areas of cooperation, including exploring the possibility of establishing an air route between Van Don International Airport and Yangyang International Airport; strengthening destination promotion, business connections and media cooperation; developing tourism human resources; organising famtrips and presstrips; and coordinating tourism promotion activities in each other’s markets.

At the meeting with Cebu Province, the Philippines, discussions focused on the potential to strengthen air connectivity between Van Don and Mactan–Cebu, enhance destination promotion, share information, connect businesses, promote tourist exchanges, and share experience in organising large-scale cultural, sports and tourism events.

With Tuv Province, Mongolia, the two sides discussed strengthening the EATOF cooperation mechanism, enhancing connectivity and destination promotion, and increasing tourist exchanges between the two localities.

At the meeting with Luang Prabang Province, Laos, the two sides focused on continuing to implement areas of cooperation for the 2026–2030 period, including tourism.

With Sarawak, Malaysia, the two sides held in-depth discussions on cruise tourism development and air connectivity.

Through these bilateral meetings, Quang Ninh continued to expand its connections with EATOF member localities, working to turn cooperation programmes in tourism markets, products, destination promotion and tourist exchanges into concrete actions, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of tourism linkages in East Asia.
