As part of the 2026 Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum in Hue City, on the afternoon of September 6, Quang Ninh City delegation led by Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Le Van Anh had a courtesy meeting with a delegation from Shiga Prefecture, Japan, led by its Vice Governor Kishimoto Orie.
Speaking at the meeting, Shiga Vice Governor Kishimoto Orie congratulated Quang Ninh on becoming a city and expressed her impression of the city’s strong development in recent years. She said that the expansion of Quang Ninh’s development space, together with its existing potential and advantages, would create further opportunities for the two localities to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh City People’s Committee Le Van Anh affirmed that Quang Ninh regards Japan as one of its important partners and wishes to continue expanding cooperation with Japanese localities, including Shiga Prefecture. Quang Ninh City is ready to coordinate and create favourable conditions for cooperation programmes between the two localities to be implemented on an increasingly broad and substantive basis, bringing practical benefits to people and businesses on both sides.
The two sides agreed to continue maintaining information exchanges, strengthen connections among agencies, organisations and businesses, and study ways to concretise areas of potential cooperation, thereby gradually making relations between Quang Ninh and Shiga more substantive, effective and sustainable in the coming period.
