According to figures released by the National Statistics Office, the city's GRDP grew by 15.04% in the third quarter and 12.54% in the first nine months, ranking first nationwide. Socio-economic development tasks have been implemented on schedule, with many targets met or exceeded. Clean coal output and electricity generation exceeded the nine-month targets, while all 12 projects scheduled to begin production and business operations have become operational, creating additional potential to contribute to full-year growth.

Tourism and exports recorded solid growth, with tourist arrivals in the first nine months estimated at 18.8 million, including 4.21 million international arrivals. Export turnover is estimated at USD 3.545 billion, up 17.2% year on year. Total State budget revenue is estimated at VND 80.327 trillion, an increase of 88.28% from the same period last year. Foreign direct investment reached more than USD 1.314 billion.

Notably, Quang Ninh achieved its targets for becoming a city four years ahead of the schedule set out in the Resolution of the 16th City Party Congress.

Outlining priorities for the coming period, Secretary of the Quang Ninh City Party Committee Quan Minh Cuong emphasised the need to continue prioritising investment resources for key infrastructure projects and accelerate the development of the digital economy, gradually turning it into an important driver of economic growth. He also called for greater attention to environmental protection, maintaining security and public order, and building a safe and peaceful living environment so that residents can genuinely benefit from development achievements and enjoy increasingly happy lives.

At the meeting, the City Party Committee's Standing Committee also reviewed and provided comments on a proposal and draft resolution on developing Van Don Special Zone into a Special Economic Zone; a proposal on developing Quang Ninh City's heritage economy, night-time tourism products and cultural industries through 2030, with a vision to 2045; a proposal to pilot the "Socialist School" and "Socialist Hospital" models; and several other important issues.
