On October 22, Mr. Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh City People’s Committee, received Hashimoto Takahiro, General Director of Shin-Etsu Vietnam Magnet Materials Co., Ltd., for a courtesy meeting.
Hashimoto briefed the city leader on the company’s factory in Nam Tien Phong Industrial Park, Lien Hoa ward, Quang Ninh city. The facility began operations in June 2026, producing rare-earth magnets for the automotive industry, electrical equipment and industrial motors.
The company plans to establish a long-term presence in Quang Ninh and further expand production. In order to support its next phase of investment, it also sought the city’s guidance on procedures for obtaining approval to sell salt chemicals outside the investment project.
Mr. Le Van Anh reaffirmed the city’s support for business expansion and assigned the Economic Zone Authority to work with relevant agencies to guide the company through the required documentation and procedures for appraisal and consideration in accordance with regulations.
Ensuring reliable infrastructure is another priority for the city. The municipal authorities have worked with the electricity sector and other relevant agencies to accelerate infrastructure investment and secure a stable power supply for production. Mr. Le Van Anh also encouraged the company to increase investment, expand production and make effective use of the favorable conditions in Quang Ninh, contributing to the city’s socio-economic development.
