Jointly organized by local authorities and the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, the three-day festival runs through October 2, coinciding with the 20th day of the eighth lunar month, or the death anniversary of Tran Hung Dao, a revered national hero.

Built in 1381 during the 14th century, An Sinh Temple serves as a sacred spiritual center honoring eight emperors of the Tran Dynasty, Prince An Sinh Tran Lieu (father of national hero Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan and older brother of Emperor Tran Thai Tong), Imperial Consort Thien Dao, wife of Prince An Sinh Tran Lieu, and national hero Tran Hung Dao (Tran Quoc Tuan), a supreme military commander of the Tran Dynasty renowned for leading the Vietnamese armies to decisive victories against the Mongol invasions in the 13th century.

Together with the shrines and towers scattered across the Yen Tu mountain range, the temple forms a critical historical and cultural link within the Yen Tu relic and scenic complex.

The opening ceremony featured impressive drum performances, dragon and lion dances, followed by traditional rituals including incense offerings, prayer chants for national peace and prosperity, and memorial rites dedicated to the Tran emperors and Tran Hung Dao.

Running through October 2, the festival features folk games and a neighborhood singing contest themed around pride in Quang Ninh city.

The event aims to preserve Tran dynasty heritage, boost spiritual tourism, and foster community solidarity across the heritage region.
