On Oct. 5, in Hanoi, Vice Chairman of QNPPC Dang Huy Hau held a talk with a delegation of Inbaraki province (Japan) led by Mr. Iitsuka Akio, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council to discuss cooperation in agriculture.
Speaking at the talk, Hau emphasized that agriculture is one of the important economic sectors of Quang Ninh. Although, it accounts low rate of the provincial GDP, agriculture plays an important role in ensuring food security and creating a solid basis to foster other key economic sectors of Quang Ninh. However, argicultural products of Quang Ninh are mainly raw with low value added.
In addition, potential for agricultural development has not been fully exploited, such as land, water surfaces, cheap and good-quality human resources. Therefore, Quang Ninh hopes to receive much support from Ibaraki to boost this economic sector, especially in the areas of farming, raising cattle and poultry, food processing techniques and marketing. Hau then pledged to provide investors from Ibaraki's province in particular and Japan in general with the best conditions during their investments in Quang Ninh.
For his part, Mr. Iitsuka Akio and his couterage higly appreciated the aims of this talk. He affirmed that there are similarities between Ibaraki and Quang Ninh, which helps promote the cooperation of the two sides.
