On August 11, in Ha Long city, Chairman of QNPPC Nguyen Van Doc and Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Thanh received and worked with the CEO of the VEKA Shipbuilding Group (Holland)-Frank Muiler , who came to Quang Ninh to explore the investment opportunities.
At the reception, Chairman Nguyen Van Doc introduced VEKA about Quang Ninh’s strengths and potentials in terms of geography, historic sites, especially seaports and shipbuilding industry. He hoped that through this visit, the Group will be provided with adequate information to set up a long term investment cooperation in Quang Ninh.
For his part, the CEO of the VEKA Group Frank Muiler hoped to contribute to the development of shipbuilding industry of Vietnam. The Group plans to transfer shipbuilding technology from Holland to Vietnam; to provide hi-quality products as well as shipping maintenance.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh-Vice Chairman of QNPPC wished that some effective projects would be implemented in Quang Ninh by the VEKA group. He also stressed that Quang Ninh particularly pays high attention to the major areas, namely:transfering shipbuilding technology and maritime service products. He commits that Quang Ninh will offer the best conditions to the Group to successfully implement investment projects in Quang Ninh.
Attending the meeting, leaders of Tuan Chau and Vinashin Groups have introduced to the VEKA Group about their expertise and expectation in shipbuilding industry. They wished to have a good cooperation with the VEKA group. After the meeting, the VEKA group has site-visited to at Cai Lan Industrial Zone and Tuan Chau International Resort.
Since its establishment in 1988, the VeKa Group specializes in shipbuilding, it has many branches in many countries all over the world. It has produced thousands of cargo vessels and luxurious yachts. Currently, the group is extending its business to Vietnam.
