Van Don International Airport has been named “World’s Leading New Airport” at the World Travel Awards 2019, which was announced in Nov. 28 in Oman’s Muscat, becoming the first Vietnamese airport and the second one (preceded by the Muscat International Airport 2018) to be honored with this prestigious award.
Gaining this title, Van Don International Airport satisfied criteria on the airport’s design; services’quality and passengers’ satisfaction.
Previously, Van Don International Airport was selected as the Asia’s Leading New Airport, and recognized as one of the five airports with the highest points for service quality in the first quarter according to a survey by the Airport Performance Measurement program (APMP).
Currently, Van Don International Airport is operating the air routes connecting Van Don with Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang. All of which have been served by Vietnam’s three leading airlines including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and Bamboo Airways. The international routes connecting Van Don with China and the RoK have been launched since May. So far, Van Don Airport has greeted 235,000 passengers catching 1,796 flights, including nearly 117 international ones with nearly 10,000 international passengers.
