Tien Yen: Speeding up land clearance for Van Don-Mong Cai expressway

The People’s Committee of Tien Yen district is now speeding up the progress of land clearance for the Van Don-Mong Cai expressway project, and dealing with problems facing the project.

The section passing Tien Yen district stretches 12.83km, consisting of three communes, namely Tien Lang, Dong Ngu and Dong Hai. To date, 228 households have agreed and received the compensation and handled their land, occupying 74.26%. By Sep. 10. 2018,  10.63 km with land clearance has been handled to the investor.

To achieve these results in the land clearance for the Van Don-Mong Cai expressway project, the leaders of the district had put high priority on ensuring legal rights of the local people, and deal with problems related to the land clearance in the soonest time.

Van Don-Mong Cai expressway project is invested in the form of BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer). The project has the length of 80.2 kmand four lanes with the design speed of 100km per hour. The total investment capital is estimated at VND11,195 billion (US$493 million).

The expressway belongs to the districts of Van Don, Tien Yen, Dam Ha, Hai Ha and Mong Cai city. The route starts at Doan Ket commune, Van Don district and ends at Km150+339, Mong Cai city.

As scheduled, the project construction will be kick off in the 4th quarter of 2018. Currently, the People’s Committee of Tien Yen district has enhanced the management over the land which was handled to the invetsor. Households who received the compensation and handle their land for the project were supported during their land procedures for their resettlement
