The Vietnamese Embassy in China has received the announcement from the Department of Phytosanitary (under the General Department of China Customs) informing that White Clam, Undulating Venus and Poker Chip Venus are the three more aquaculture products which are allowed to be exported to China.
As reported, in June, 2019 China issued a list of Vietnam's aquaculture products allowed to be exported to the Chinese market not including three above mentioned products which are Quang Ninh’s advantageous aquaculture products for export.
According to statistics in 2018, Quang Ninh's total mollusk production output was 25,000 tons. In particular, the total production of clams reached 12,000-13,000 tons (accounting for 50%) with farming area up to 3,500 ha.
Therefore, the Quang Ninh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has closely collaborated with advisory agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Provincial People's Committee to propose to add these advantageous products to the list of products for export to the Chinese market and provide the dossier to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to send notes to China to supplement traditional export products.
