On Feb.19, Mong Cai city (Quang Ninh, Vietnam) and Dongxing city (Guangxi, China) painted a dividing line and signed a temporary regulation on the management and operation of the pontoon bridge connecting the two cities.
The regulation consists of a list of organizations and agencies involved to manage the bridge and take responsibility for technical operations and inspections.
It also specifies other issues namely operating schedules, fees and the way to resolve unexpected problems raised during the operation of the pontoon bridge.
The agencies who are in charge of managing the bridge include the Management Board of the Mong Cai international boder gate (Vietnam) and the Dongxing Department of Trade (China).
All of the technical operations are carried out by the Thanh Dat Joint Stock Company (Vietnam) and the Dongxing city Urban Construction Investment Company Limited (China).
Being launched on January 19, 2017 and techinically opened on December 1, 2017, the project of pontoon bridge Km 3+4 located at Hai Yen ward in Mong Cai city is the first one connecting Mong Cai city and Dongxing city. The two-lane bridge which costs nearly VND 160 billion has 114 m long and 12 m wide with the designed capacity of 60 tons; the sub-buoy is 12x3x1,5m.
