With a total investment capital of nearly VND 160,000 bln, this is the first bridge built in order to connect Mong Cai city (Vietnam) with Dongxing city (China). The bridge is 114 m long and 12 m wide, with two lanes and a capacity of 60 tons of goods.

The operation of the bridge will reduce cost of commodities transport and overloading through the border river between the two localities. It is also expected to limit bad impacts of the weather.  Besides, the bridge will help enhance the competitiveness of the Mong Cai-Dongxing border gate and other pairs of border gates on the Vietnam-China border route, contributing to promote the socio-economic development of both sides.

Once completed, this project would contribute to boost the partnership between Vietnam and China in general, and between Mong Cai and Dongxi in particular in the economic development copperation in border region. It is also an important milestone in the friendship of Mong Cai and Dongxi provinces, contributing to build a peaceful, stable and developed border.
