Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee held an online meeting on improving seaport services to attract more imported and exported commodities via the province’s seaports. Provincial Vice-chairman, Bui Van Khang, presided over the meeting.
Concluding the meeting, the Vice-chairman asked Department of Industry and Trade and Department of Transportation to timely deal with the enterprises’ difficulties. Relevant units should follow their assigned missions to effectively undertake measures to improve seaport. At the meeting, leaders from Department of Industry and Trade and Department of Transportation reported suggestion raised by enterprises which operate seaport services in the locality, for example, upgrading technical infrastructure, improving the operational capacity of Cai Lan Berth, developing Hon Net and Con Ong areas, appealing investment into Con Cong Port, establishing areas for docking on Ha Long Bay…
In the first half of the year, total import-export turnover via Quang Ninh’s seaports reached more than 3.1 trillion US$ accounting for 74.5% of total import-export turnover via the province and increasing 9% over the same period last year.
