Speed up Song Khoai Industrial Zone project

By now, the total area of 123.09 hectares of the first period of the Song Khoai Industrial Zone (IZ) project in Quang Yen Town has been handed over to the investor Thailand’s Amata Group who is determined to put the IZ into operation within 2020.

The project is divided into 5 periods covering on an area of 714 hectares with total investment of more than 3,500 bill VND. The synchronously invested IZ will have 87 hectares for secondary investors and remaining areas for supporting facilities like a sewage treatment station with capacity of 6,500m3/day; power and water supply stations; nearly 4.2 km of internal traffic. The key project will contribute to wakening the hidden potentials, attracting more investors to Quang Yên and creating jobs for more than 10,000 laborers.

On June 17, at the working session with Amata group, Quang Ninh Provincial People’ Committee required Quang Yen town to cooperate with the investor to select the suitable location for land mining to serve the levelling work at the IZ. To date, all works have been done. The investor asked contractors to make the specific plan for each working component, specific execution solutions and expected completion time.

The investor is promoting and introducing advantages of the IZ to attract secondary investors and businesses. The IZ gives priority to processing, manufacturing, high tech, bio-tech, software and renewable energy businesses.

Amata is experienced in investing industrial zones. It constructed Dong Nai Amata IZ in Bien Hoa city which accommodates 164 businesses from 21 countries and creates jobs for 49,000 laborers. Song Khoai is its first IZ in the northern Vietnam and the first infrastructure development project of the Thailand investor.

According to the approved Quang Yen’s planning toward 2030 and vision toward 2050, Quang Yen will have features and functions of a central urban, concentrating on developing economy, commerce, tourism, services and sea ports.
