A delegation of Singapore Tourism Board (STB) led by Leong Yue Kheng, Deputy Head of the SBT has paid a visit to Quang Ninh to seek for cooperative opportunities in tourism . Mr. Trinh Dang Thanh, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has received and worked with the delegation.
At the meeting, Mr. Trinh Dang Thanh has introduced to the delegation about Quang Ninh’s achievements in recent years as well as tourism potentials and advantages of the province. Accordingly, in the past ten years, tourist arrivals of Quang Ninh reach an average annual increase of 11.84%. In 2011, the province received 97 arrivals of international cruise ships bringing 55,000 tourists’ arrivals from all continents.
The Singaporean delegation highly appreciated potentials and strengths of Quang Ninh tourism. They had a chance to learn about the transport infrastructure, tourism facilities, the way in which Ha Long tourism develops, as well as trends of Quang Ninh tourism development in the coming years. They are highly interested in waste treatment on Ha Long Bay.
On this occasion, Mr. Trinh Dang Thanh called for Singaporean investors to come to Quang Ninh to explore investment opportunities, especially in tourism area. The delegation on April 20 also explored tourism potentials and advantages of Van Don district.
