On Agust 21, Quang Ninh’s Vice-chairman, Dang Huy Hau chaired a meeting on the implementation of the Project for Green Growth Promotion in Quang Ninh in the period of 2020-2025.
The Project for Green Growth Promotion in Quang Ninh in the period of 2020-2025 is developed basing on the results of the Project for Green Growth Promotion in the province sponsored by the Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA from 2014-2019. The project aims at promoting green growth in the process of shifting from brown to green growth via sustainable environmental policies for key sectors, including tourism; contributing to succeed environmental protection targets within the scope of Vietnam’s Green Growth Strategy; and building Quang Ninh as a must-visit and worth-living destination.
Speaking at the meeting, Quang Ninh’s Vice-chairman requested relevant units to continue paying attention to community-based tourism development, environmental hygiene, blue sail labels on Ha Long Bay, and the publication of White Book and the plan of introducing the book into schools. He also required an additional capital to Environmental Development Fund, and better waste classification while maintaining good models which have been implemented over the past years, as well as fulfilling programs to promote green growth in the province.
