On December 2, Quang Ninh's Chairman Nguyen Van Thang chaired a meeting on the progress of implementing the Smart City Model Implementation Project and summarizing the disbursement of IT projects in the 2019's plan.
At the meeting, the participants focused on identifying the reasons for the slow progress and slow disbursement in the implementation of the project. Accordingly, the reason is that Quang Ninh is the pioneer to pilot the Smart City Model Implementation Project, therefore, facing difficulties in completing legal procedures in terms of investment. They also proposed to adjust the duration of the project to ensure its efficiency.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Van Thang requested related departments to review projects which have slowly been implemented and asked the investor, and the appraisal body to rapidly complete the disbursement procedure by December 31, 2019.
Regarding the to-be-invested projects, he asked the investor to closely coordinate with the appraisal agency to ensure progress as scheduled. "During the implementation, it is necessary to promptly sum up and report problems to find appropriate solutions", directed the Chairman.
Quang Ninh's Chairman also agreed to adjust the project's duration to increase the efficiency at the requests of the investor. He emphasized that priority should be put on new technology and key projects which are urgent and suitable with the province's financial capacity.
