With the aim of creating a bedrock position for OCOP products in particular and agricultural products in general in markets, in recent years, many enterprises and cooperatives in Quang Ninh have made great effort in renovating, improving quality, diversifying types and applying science and technology into production.
To meet the markets’ needs, production units have concentrated on improving the quality of existing products in professional ways. Quang Ninh Seafood Production and Trading Company Ltd., Co is one of the pioneers to improve not only product quality but also logo, packaging design, modern product labels and applied softwares of barcode stamping, production date, expiry date instead of manual printing, thereby saving costs and protect the products from being copied.
Production units have paid special attention to improving packaging design and labels in a professional manner, partly contributing to increasing attractiveness as well as meeting the customers’ demands and protecting trademarks. For instance, yellow flower tea products by DapThanh Forest Products Joint Stock Company (Ba Che district), are now packed in mica box in various shapes and sizes, instead of packing in plastic bags weighing 30g, 50g, 0.5kg, 1kg.
With the support of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee and the departments, OCOP product production units and cooperatives have applied scientific and technological advances in production to improve product quality, increase productivity and reduce costs. In late 2018, a Japanese synchronous automation technology line was operated by Long Hai Co., Ltd. (Dong Trieu town) to produce hi-quality mushrooms with a total value of over VND 50 billion. The application of science and technology has contributed to reducing production costs, increasing yield by 15-20%, overcoming the situation of seasonal mushroom production.
Moreover, Binh Lieu Trading and Service Joint Stock Company had installed a clean powder separating line, vacuum system in producing vermicelli; meanwhile The Truong Son Agricultural and General Services Cooperative (Dam Ha district) has invested in cold storage, drying kilns and Dam Ha radish processing technology.
It can be said that, all the application of modern and advanced technologies has helped to increase the values, improve quality and create competitiveness of OCOP products in the market.
