In the first 6 months of this year, despite many difficulties and challenges, Quang Ninh’s socio-economic development achieved positive results.
The Gross Regional Domestic Products (GRDP) growth rate increased 12.09 percent (higher than the estimated 6-month growth scenario and the whole year’s target). The three key economic sectors including Industry, Services, and Agriculture witnessed higher growth in comparison with the same period of 2018.
In addition, the total retail sales of goods and services revenue was estimated at VND 48,512 billion, up 18.8%.
Also in the first half of 2019, Quang Ninh functional authorities successfully organized a wide range of tourism activities, including Carnival; ASEAN Tourism Forum; and Tourism Week Ha Long – Quang Ninh, etc.
Besides, the effect of the transport infrastructure projects also greatly contributed to Quang Ninh’s economic growth in the first 6 months of the year. Specifically, Van Don International Airport; Ha Long International Cruise Port, Bac Luan II Bridge, Ha Long-Hai Phong and Ha Long- Van Don expressways have been effectively exploited and become an important impetus for development of various types of services, including logistics, marine transport, trade and tourism.
2019 is the second consecutive year Quang Ninh has topped the Public Administrative Reform and Provincial Competitiveness Index, showing the province’s great efforts in its performance of the public administration reform, the improvement of the business climate and the provincial competitiveness with the aim of better serving enterprises and people.
With the guidance and direction of the province’s leaders, and the active involvement of the whole political system, departments and sectors, Party members and Quang Ninh people, the province targets to continue to make breakthroughs in the remaining months of 2019, striving to become one of the most modern and biggest centers of Vietnam for trade, tourism and services.
