In the first 6 months of 2012, Quang Ninh has attracted more than US$ 390 million, equaling to 14.8 times as much as the total FDI of 2011, reported by the Department of Planning and Investment.
In the first 6 months of 2012, Quang Ninh has obtained notable achievement in investment attraction and promotion. After the 2012 Quang Ninh Investment Promotion Conference, the province has welcomed many foreign investors to visit and seek for investment opportunities in fields of tourism, service, airport, industry, health care, education, environment, industrial zone, etc.
So far, the FDI in 6 months has achieved over US$ 390 million including 4 newly-granted register licenses. It can be seen that the FDI in 6 months increased in both number of projects and registration capital compared with that of 2011.
Up to present, the province has had 93 valid FDI projects with the total registered capital of over US$ 4.1 billion.
Along with investment promotion, Quang Ninh has also proposed the Government for permission to apply special incentives in attracting and diversifying investment resources particularly for the major infrastructure projects namely the highway connecting Ha Long - Hai Phong, the road leading to Bac Luan II bridge, Van Don international airport project, Ha Long city environmental protection project, the project to bring national grid electricity to Co To island, etc.
