The management board of the construction of Mong Duong I thermo-electric plant has said that, since the inauguration of the project, it has created jobs for over 1,000 local labourers, contributing to stabilizing people’s life.
Situated on an area of 55 hectares in Mong Duong ward, Cam Pha city , it is one of the two plants of the Mong Duong Centre of Electricity, belonging to the national power development plan in the 2006-2015 period.
Built with a total capital of USD1.7 billion invested by Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), it is designed with 2 sets of generators with output of 6.5 billion kWh each year.
The progress of the construction is being accelerated in an effort to put into operation the 1st set of generators by Quarter I of 2015, and the 2nd by the Quarter III of 2015.
When it goes into operation, the plant is expected to increase power supply to the national grid and promote the provincial socio-economic development.
