In the frame work of the working visit to Guangxi province (China), on 18 April, the delegation led by of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Pham Minh Chinh Secretary had a meeting with the leaders of Liuzhou city.
On behalf of Liuzhou city’s leaders, the vice-mayor of the Liuzhou city has introduced to the delegation about an overview of socio-economic situation of the city.
Accordingly, Liuzhou is the second city in Guangxi province with a population of 3.8 mln people. In 2011, the industrial production turnover gained Yuan 311 bln, accounted for one quarter of the total value of industrial production value of Guangxi. The industrial products are mainly steel and automobiles. Currently, Liuzhou has 5 plants invested in Vietnam. Xiao Yao Jun believed that the two sides will enhance cooperation in fields of industry, tourism and culture.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh is happy for changes and development of the city. He wished that the cooperative friendship between Quang Ninh and Liuzhou will be tightened and deepened aiming at sharing and exchanging experiences in some areas, contributing to a better development of the two countries in general and the two localities in particular.
The leader of Liuzhou city also proposed that Liuzhou may be twinned with a city of Quang Ninh to have cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism, culture… at the same time to exchange experiences with Quang Ninh in planning, tourism, and investment.
On this occasion, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh cordially invited the leaders of Liuzhou city to attend the ceremony to be held on May 1 to receive the certificate of “ New Natural Wonder of the world”. On this occasion, the Secretary of Quang Ninh ProvincialParty Committee and his entourage visited the Public Administration Center of the city and memorizing site of the President Ho Chi Minh.
On April 19, the delegation continued their working visit in Guilin city.
