On December 13, Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Van Thang chaired a meeting to listen to Amata Group's report on the planning project of Amata Ha Long smart city and the progress of Song Khoai Industrial Park project.
At the meeting, representatives of relevant provincial departments proposed Amata Group to add the waterway transport infrastructure plan, the current state of forests and mangroves into the planning project of Amata Ha Long smart city; as well as to speed up the progress of the Song Khoai industrial park infrastructure construction.
For his part, Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Van Thang strongly affirmed that Amata Ha Long smart city is a special urban project in the region and in the whole country. He asked Amata group to continue reviewing the contents as proposed by the representatives of the departments, localities in order to complete the project properly.
He suggested that Amata Group should continue to study the planning of high-class tourism and service areas within the project to create more highlights and connect with other tourism and service infrastructures in the region to attract more tourists to Quang Ninh.
Regarding Song Khoai Industrial Park project, Quang Ninh’s Chairman requested the Amata Group to focus resources to accelerate the construction progress of the project in the first phase as well as the land clearance in the next stage so that it would not cause any bad impacts on the investment attraction activities in the province.
According to the planning project, Amata Ha Long Smart City will be invested on an area of 1,720 ha in Uong Bi City and Quang Yen Town. Of which, 456.1ha will be used for residential area while 560,2ha is for education and training area; The remaining 703,8ha will be used for a complex. It is planned to be completed by 2035, Amata Ha Long Smart City city is expected to provide ecological housing for more than 200,000 people, and an international standard workplace for more than 218,000 workers. The city including a residential area, a mixed trade center, a green tree area; a green technology park; an exhibition center, and a convention hall.
Related to the Song Khoai Industrial Park project, this is an industrial park with synchronous investment; of which 87ha is for secondary investors to deploy infrastructure construction, the remaining area is infrastructure system served the industrial park. At present, the investor is speeding up all the implementation steps, with the purpose of putting the project into operation in 2020.
