On Jan 4th, Quang Ninh’s Chairman, Nguyen Van Thang, had a courtesy meeting with Lao Deputy Prime Minister, Sonexay Siphandone.
In 2019, Quang Ninh gained significant achievements in all aspects. Its economic growth reached more than 12%. The province was among 7 localities nationwide with the highestcontribution to state budget. In terms of diplomatic tie, the province paid special concern to tighten the long lasting traditional friendship with Lao People's Democratic Republic. Quang Ninh had signed MOUs of establishing brotherhood tie with Lao’s Northern provinces, namely Luang Prabang, Houaphanh, and Xayabury; supported these Northern provinces to build public works, for example parks and schools; offered scholarship to Lao’s Northern provinces’ students to study in Quang Ninh…
Lao Deputy Prime Minister thanked Quang Ninh’s leader for his warm welcome. He said he was impressed by the province’s achievements over the past few years. He believed that the province would further develop in the future.
He hoped that the bilateral tie between Lao and Quang Ninh would be enhanced in a more practical and efficient manner. The tie is not only for the three Northern provinces of Lao but also other provinces throughout Laos, with the aim of connecting tourism destinations and operating a direct flight from Quang Ninh to Lao and vice verse…
