Quang Ninh Provincial Secretary meets Thai Ambassador to Vietnam

On July 6, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee’s Secretary, cum Chairman of Provincial People’s Council, Nguyen Xuan Ky, had a courtesy meeting with Thai Ambassador to Vietnam, Tanee Sangrat, and representatives for Thailand’s enterprises which are investing and seeking investment opportunities in the province. 

At the reception, Thai Ambassador Tanee Sangrat congratulated Quang Ninh on its significant socio-economic achievement. Quang Ninh in particular and Vietnam in general have succeeded in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

He hoped the provincial leaders would share experiences and the ways in which Quang Ninh has successfully attracted investors, especially maintaining the 1st place for Provincial Competiveness Index PCI in 3 consecutive years. He also said that, the Embassy planned to organize a working group of Thai investors who come to Vietnam to seeking for investment opportunities in Vietnam, including in Quang Ninh.

Talking about the 1st place for PCI for 3 years in a row, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee’s Secretary, cum Chairman of People’s Council, Nguyen Xuan Ky, said that it is because the province always defines serving enterprises and local people as key mission.

The Secretary also mentioned that Thailand’s Amata Group is investing in the industrial park that has the best location in the province as it is awaiting for the Government’s approval as a coastal economic zone. During the implementation of projects, Quang Ninh always creates the most favorable condition for investors. This project is regarded as an important bridge between Quang Ninh province and Thailand.

He also hoped that the Ambassador’s working trip to Quang Ninh would promote more investment from Thailand into Quang Ninh in the fields of information and technology, manufacturing, tourism… Besides, he suggested the opening of flights connecting Quang Ninh and Thai localities.
