Starting with typical products of each localities, after nearly 7 years of implementation, OCOP products have become Quang Ninh's own brand. However, it would not be easy for Quang Ninh’s OCOP products to be strongly developed over the years if there were no trade promotion activities. The trade fairs and exhibitions has greatly contributed to bringing Quang Ninh OCOP products closer to locals and visitors, creating them a positive habit of consumption.
As time goes by, OCOP products have participated in many trade promotion activities outside the province or internationally associated with major fairs and exhibitions under the National Trade Promotion Program (Ministry of Industry and Trade), National OCOP of the Coordinating Committee for Agriculture. These are opportunities for the units to sign commercial contracts to provide products to partners, supermarkets and major trade centers in the whole country.
With the theme "Promotion of OCOP products", In 2019, the OCOP Steering Committee at all levels and Trade Promotion Center (Department of Industry and Trade) have supported businesses, cooperatives and households to connect their products to trade centers, supermarkets, restaurants and hotels in and outside the province. Besides, nearly 20 domestic and international OCOP fairs have been held and international fairs in not only Quang Ninh but also in big provinces and cities in Vietnam and other countries. As reported, the OCOP Fair Quang Ninh - Summer 2019 earned VND 7 billion in revenue.
With the goal of developing the OCOP Program to be an important economic development program of the province, besides promoting trade promotion activities, the quality and quantity of products has been paid with much concerns. In the coming time, the OCOP Steering Committees at all levels plan to constantly improve the quality of OCOP products. In particular, they will improve packaging designs and standardize the quality of 5-star and potential products, thereby fostering trade promotion activities via fairs in some of the key provinces and cities in the country and potential foreign regions.
