In order to reach the target of having economic structure of industry and services by 2020, Quang Ninh has implemented comprehensive measures to improve the quality of trade services, meeting local people and tourists’ demand.
At the end of June 2019, Vingroup open Vincom Plaza covering an area of 15,000m2 in Mong Cai City, the third of its kind in Quang Ninh following the trade centers in Ha Long City and Uong Bi City. Earlier, Circle K Viet Nam opened its first around-the-clock convenient store in Ha Long City in May. To date, the number of Circle K stores in Quang Ninh has increased to 4. Besides, Vingroup is hastening the construction of Vincom Plaza in Cam Pha City to put it into operation while Central Group is preparing for the project of Big C in the same city.
Quang Ninh now has 6 trade centers, 27 supermarkets, and 51 convenient stores. They not only meet local people and tourists’ shopping demand but also improve the quality of trade services and promote growth in service sector.
Making the most of the advantage of being a border province, Quang Ninh has focused on developing border trade services, which creates favorable conditions for trade transaction and help the province become a gateway for trade among Vietnam-China-ASEAN. Thanks to different capital sources, trade infrastructure at border areas have been synchronously upgraded, especially in transportation. For example, upgrading Bac Luan Bridge No.1, building Bac Luan Birdge No.2, improving spillways at Hoanh Mo Border Gate and Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate, upgrading Highway 18C (section from Mong Cai Economic Zone to Bac Phong Sinh Economic Zone)…
In addition, Quang Ninh’s authorities have promptly issued documents to facilitate enterprises doing business in imports and exports. It also well operates Vietnam Automated System for Seaport Customs Management (VASSCM) at Cai Lan Port Customs and Mong Cai Border Customs, National Single Window, and ASEAN Single Window (ASW), applies online administrative services level 3 for grating certificates of origin…
Quang Ninh is one of the pioneers in building E-commerce trading floor. Since 2016, it has been increasingly upgraded to be as modern as other platforms of same kind. Quang Ninh’s E-commerce trading floor advertises, introduces, and sells 130 OCOP products. It also signs with professional delivery partners, namely such as GHN Express, Vietel Delivery, and Vietnam Post and Telecommunications…and links with bigger e-commerce platforms, for example Lazada, Shopee, Fado, Tiki…to bring convenience to customers. At present, the platform has more than 10,000 log-ins a day.
In order to create a driving force for trade service development, Quang Ninh gave the nod to the plan of developing provincial trade sector by 2025 with a vision to 2030 while issuing action plan for improving competitiveness and developing logistics in the province by 2025. This will be a cornerstone for sustainably developing trade services in particular and service sector in general, contributing to completing the target of becoming an industrial and service province by 2020.
