The city has attracted several major technology corporations, including Foxconn, Jinko Solar, Lite-On Technology, Autoliv, Yaskawa Electric Corporation, and Mutek Technology Company Limited Vietnam, supported by its increasing synchronized infrastructure and an improved investment climate. These developments provide a solid foundation for the city to expand its capacity for high-tech projects.
Aligned with Vietnam's National Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision toward 2050, the city aims to develop its semiconductor industry by leveraging the manufacturing strengths of its industrial parks and economic zones. The centralized digital technology hub in Tuan Chau ward will serve as a core anchor for investment, research, and talent training.
Throughout 2026, the city has been focusing on finalizing mechanisms to support innovative startups, digital tech production, and semiconductor supply-chain components. Simultaneously, it is fast-tracking critical prerequisites: securing land, stable power and water supplies, housing, laboratories, and driving administrative reform. A comprehensive review of enterprise and labor databases is also underway to shape targeted investment attraction and workforce planning.
Efforts are accelerating to establish the Tuan Chau digital technology hub, paving the way for an advanced R&D center and semiconductor chip-design training base. Furthermore, the city is selecting at least one prioritized industrial zone dedicated to semiconductor and artificial intelligence projects.

Throughout 2026, Quang Ninh aims to finalize a comprehensive labor demand assessment and establish at least one structured industry-academia training partnership.
Over the long term, academic curricula will progressively integrate modules on electronics manufacturing, packaging, testing, equipment maintenance, and semiconductor production lines. The city is also exploring targeted policies to attract top-tier experts and scientists in semiconductors and artificial intelligence, while deepening STEM education, technical research, innovation, and career guidance across local schools.
Taken together, a step-by-step, deliberate, and synchronized strategy spanning policy innovation, infrastructure upgrades, investment promotion, and workforce readiness is enabling Quang Ninh to lay the groundwork for its semiconductor capacity while opening up new avenues for high-tech industrial growth in the period ahead.
