Quang Ninh is exploring ways to participate in Vietnam’s semiconductor and electronics sectors, drawing on its industrial foundation and developing tech community.

In the context of integration and the digital economy’s rapid development, the semiconductor industry has emerged as one of the strategic pillars of the 21st century. The semiconductor industry is not only the foundation for technological devices but also plays a core role in each nation’s digital economy.

During the talks, businesses shared their desires for collaboration and opportunities to cooperate with Việt Nam in the fields of AI development, automotive technology, semiconductor chips, and ecosystems.

Việt Nam possesses a plentiful pool of engineering and technology professionals well-suited for the semiconductor industry. Moreover, it has attracted substantial semiconductor industry players from the United States, South Korea, Japan and Europe.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has ordered four government bodies to collaborate to train 30,000-50,000 engineers and 100 experts in digital transformation and manufacturing semiconductors.
