The northern province of Quang Ninh has licensed 46 projects from the start of the year, according to the province Department of Planning and Investment.
Domestic-invested capital reached nearly VND12 trillion while foreign-direct investment (FDI) capital posted USD400 million, exceeding the year’s plan by 8 percent.
The province has so far had 95 valid FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than USD4.5 billion.
For investment promotion, in October, the province worked with investors to study investment opportunities. The Quang Ninh Investment Promotion Agency received seven documents proposing approval for investment policy and locations, and advised the provincial People’s Committee to license two domestic-invested projects capitalised with more than VND20 trillion.
In addition, strategic cooperative agreements signed between Quang Ninh and Amata – Tuan Chau Group created opportunities to promote the completion process of necessary documents for a complex of urban areas and hi-tech parks in Quang Yen town, Uong Bi city and Ha Long city.
The complex is expected to encompass dynamic and effective economic zones as well as new urban areas attractive to investors, with the view to promoting environmentally sustainable growth in harmony with socio-economic development goals.
